I keep thinking I want to update the blog at least one time per week but I don't
think that has happened yet. I will try to get better.... So August was a little busy, we went to the Goodhue Co Fair to watch the boys show their animals, we had a wedding, and we went
on vacation to WI.

It has been a great summer, I can't believe fall is just around the corner.
Oliver is going to be 8 months already next week!! Some of his accomplishments include: weight 25#s, (if that is an accomplishment), he is slowing down though believe it or not as he only gained 1 pound this last month. He has figured out how to army crawl on his belly, so basically he is all over the place. When something is in his sights, he is bound and determined to get it, even if it means wiggling his way out of our arms, or diving downward when you are holding him. He decided he likes to stand up rather than sit. He is eating all kinds of baby foods, fruits and veggies. His hair keeps getting lighter and lighter. It used to be as dark as Robert's when he was born, now it is almost blonde. It is really cute, it almost looks like he has highlights or something. Finally, this past weekend he helped Grandma and I make spaghetti (sp?) sauce with fresh garden tomatoes and veggies. He is such a good helper and he is really good at entertaining himself. Please enjoy the pics of our August adventures!

Watching daddy mow lawn out the window. He has
to make sure he does it right!

Tubby time!

His smile is so big he can't keep his eyes open!! I think
he has figured out when I get the camera out it is
time to put on a show!!

Summer vacation, Jellystone! We had a great vacation
in WI with my entire family, except dad, who
stayed home to farm. All together I think there
were about 15 kids. We stayed in the cabins and had 4 cabins
that were conjoining so all the kids could roam about. We also did
2 meals a day all together which worked good. We had a super time
relaxing and the kids did great playing, swimming and eating!
Aubriel and Oliver loved playing on the floor together.

Daddy swimming with Oliver in his turtle floatie. I
wasn't so sure we were going to be able to use the turtle floatie
because his legs are so big the almost didn't fit into the leg holes!
Good thing they were a little stretchy! Oliver loved
the water, splashing and talking away in the pool. He didn't even
care when he got splashed by the big kids!

Another great picture of Daddy and Oliver! I don't
know what happened to the pics of Mommy and Oliver??

Bryne lovin her cousin up! She is such a
sweetheart and mini mommy. She still wants to hold him all the time,
she can't get enough of him!

We also borrowed Declan's floatie for a little while.
He didn't seem to mind this one either.

Isn't this a great pic? I don't know what I did to get
them all looking and smiling, but they did great. Uncle Ben is
holding Leetta, and Oliver and Aubriel are just chillin!

Aubriel getting some sun!

How do you know when your at a country wedding?..... When there
are tractors on display!! At my cousin's wedding, there were all
kinds of tractors to see. Although they were all the wrong color,
(I was raised on a farm with only John Deere's) it was quite the site.
Oliver thought the steering wheel was nice, he just wanted to get it in his
mouth.

Hangin with grandpa at the wedding.

Goodhue Co Fair, the boys did super showing. They were
so cute leading their heifers around!

Bryne and Declan's B-day party.

I think Grandpa needs to add some reinforcements
to his teeter totter...then more kids can pile on!!

Just hanging out at home!

Once again hanging out with daddy!! We finally
started real food and it has been going great. So far
he's had cereal, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, and some
bananas. It was so funny, the first time I gave him
cereal he would make the most awful face after every
bite but he kept eating it. Must have just taken a while to
get used to.

So sweet!! I love this picture of him in the grass!

Zabe, such a cutie, he is going to be 3
in October. We keep saying Oliver is
going to be just like Zabe, big, tall and healthy
boy!!

The kids, Brayden held by his other sister Skyler,
Alana is holding Hazel, then its Zabe and Oliver.
They are all 2nd cousins. They were all soo good, and
played together soo nice.

More cousins! My cousin Emmy was home
from TN this week with her kids so we got together
with all the kids. Brayden who Emmy is holding, is
2 months younger than Oliver, he is a happy boy
like Oliver too. His big sister Alana was also posing
with an old cabbage patch doll, which is Charlotte's
I think.

This year we got to go to the draft horse show at
the Scott County Fair. It was really fun and neat to
see all those big horses! Robert kept telling me
all about them. Oliver took a little nap during the
show but woke up just in time for the 8 horse hitch
show which was really cool! There were like 18 teams
there from all over like Canada, and the US.

At Maddie's birthday party Uncle Shanon
thought Oliver needed to try out the big
kid toys! He was just resting his belly on the
handle bars of the john deere 4-wheeler.
I think he was trying to figure out why
everyone is always laughing at him...

Just loving up some daddy time!!

6 months old, I still can't beleive it!! I just had to
make a cake to celebrate! Not sure why he looks a
little crabby in the pic, maybe he was sick of me
taking pictures!!

Look at him, sitting up so nice. He is still
working on that balance, and sometimes he gets
a little top heavy but he really does pretty good!

Bryne just loves her cousin Oliver, always wanting to
hold him, though he is getting to be almost as big
as her! Declan, Bryne's little brother is in the pic too, he just
turned 1.

Oliver got to meet some more cousins last weekend.
We all met up at a park in Eden Prairie for a picnic.
It was an absolutely perfect day for a picnic. Elizabeth is
laying next to Oliver and Matty was trying to wrestle
with him. He is 3 and Elizabeth is about 7 1/2 months,
she's got cheeks like Oliver!

Bryne was loving the water, too cute, she
will be 3 the end of this month!

Aubriel was just chillin in the shade!

Gettin some daddy time at the park
last weekend!

I finally put him in the front of the stoller, not in his car seater.
He really liked it, probably because he could see a lot more.

The big kids thought they needed to build a fort in the
haybails. It was pretty cute, they had a living room, kitchen,
bedroom and bathroom. They even brought food
up their and were eating snacks! Oh the memories of
playing in the haybails on the farm! That was on 4th of July
weekend.

Leetta, Aubriel and Oliver were hanging out while
we were painting. They all did pretty well entertaining
each other!!

Really, is it really July 15th today? I can't believe it, seems like just yesterday it was May. I can't believe my baby is going to be 6 months tomorrow!! To all other moms out there, am I going to go through this disbelief with every passing month and year? I try really hard to take it all in and enjoy every minute with Oliver but it is going too fast! He is so fabulous, everytime people see him or meet him they are always like he is so happy, is he always this happy? Our response is always, yes he is! The only time he gets a little cranky is when he is tired which is at about 8-9pm. Otherwise he is happy as can be. He is still busy rolling around and now learning to sit up on his own. He kind of scoots when he's on his back by digging his heels in the floor, I'm sure any time he will be crawling all over the place. I just hope he continues to like snuggling... I may lose it if he outgrows that!

Oliver's 1st tractor ride!!! What excitement, daddy
got to take Oliver for a ride last weekend when
they were bailing hay at Grandpa's! It was
the first of many tractor rides to come!! He was loving
it, just looking around, taking it all in. I remember
when we used to ride with dad on the hay cutter, I
even took naps on there with him, it was the best!! I'm
so excited that Oliver will get to enjoy life growing up
on the farm like we did! So many things to do and learn!!

When I put this outfit on him I could not stop
laughing, it was so darn cute, I was on the floor
rolling pretty much. Robert was wondering
what was wrong with me!! I love the Moos
on his feet! It still makes me crack up
when I look at these pics!

He just wanted to snuggle her at 1st and then he had
to taste her to make sure she was ok! I think
he liked the taste of her hair. Sorry the pic is a little
blurry I was trying to take the picture but
keep quick hands because I didn't want him to grab
her too much. He can be kind of aggressive sometimes!

This is Oliver's newest cousin Hazel Ruth.
2nd cousin actually, she was born on 6/5/09.
Very sweet little angel! Makes me wonder if
some day I will ever get one this small? She was just
over 7lbs but I think all babies under 8lbs are tiny. Oliver was over 9lbs
when he was born so he never really seemed that tiny to me. I
just hope that my babies get smaller when they come out
and not bigger.......

I am so glad I remember to grab my camera for
such adorable poses, I mean really, can he be any more
sweet?? I tell Robert all the time, he must get all of
his sweetness from his mother!

He's a rollin, 1st day he rolled was 6/4/09. He is now
rolling like crazy only back to front though, he hasn't
gone the other way around yet. I'm sure it'll come soon
enough. We were very excited when he rolled but
then I was like, oh my baby, he's growing up!! It's
amazing the things you cherish when you have a
precious little baby!! It's a good thing they only
accomplish little things at a time, otherwise I
would not be adjusting well.

Woops, sorry I don't know how to rotate
it, It says "Yes I've always been this cute"
What else can I say, I agree!!

Our first trip to Morristown to check out the
box car races. What a fun day, it was nice weather and
we got to hang out with friends, what else could you ask for!
This is Oliver, his friend Ethan, who is 2 months younger
and about 10lbs lighter, and baby Ingebrand who is due to
arrive in August 2009! Can't wait to meet you
baby Ingebrand!
